Way back in December of ‘06 I wrote longingly of a future without diapers. Billions of diapers later, potty training is still but a tantalizing dream. At least I know that when the time is right, we’re all set with the ultra cool Potty Bench, from Boon. This baby’s got everything we’re going to need to make the transition as easily and unmessily as possible, including two side storage spaces, one of which has a toilet paper roll holder (added bonus: the roll holder drags on the bottom of the drawer to prevent runaway TP unfurlage). If Pooky is reading by the time she uses this thing, she could even put some magazines in there (or crossword puzzles, if she takes after me).

Other nifty features include a flexible splash guard and a spill-preventing angled seat. Perhaps my favorite feature of all is that it easily converts into a stepstool, for when Pooky is old enough, but not tall enough, to wash her hands by herself (see below).

Price: $29.99 at Amazon.com, or you can find a store near you.
